For a brief time during the droughts of 1968 and 1983, and for a decade between 1998 and 2008 the submerged Merlo Homestead at Lake Eildon was exposed by the low waterline in this man-made reservoir. By 2003 the homestead had collapsed, leaving only sections of the ‘Glen Hope’ fence line.
